The MDSL is excited to host its 3rd season of the Indoor Futsal League across various facilities in Montgomery County, MD. The season will take place on the weekends from January 4 – February 23, 2025 for U-8 – High School boys and girls teams.
Teams will be flighted based on competitive level (Division 1, Division 2, and so forth) and will receive 8 games during the season. Playoffs will be implemented at the end of the regular season, and champion and finalist medals will be issued. We will use GotSport scheduling and there will be a $25 discount per team for clubs who register 4 or more teams. For clubs registering 4 or more teams, select Check/MO in the GotSport platform and we will send you an invoice with the discounted rate to complete the registration. All teams must pay in full prior to the registration deadline.
*Note that the league holds the right to adjust divisions accordingly depending on the number of teams registered.

*Note there was an increase in cost from last year’s price because we have added a second referee for all games in addition to a full-time clock manager.
Note – This league is open to Classic and Travel level teams. Travel Teams will be required to upload their approved state rosters in the GotSport system. Classic teams will be required to provide birth certificates, player liability waivers, and complete an MDSL roster if they do not have a roster from another Classic league. If the team is made up of various teams from different clubs then the team will need to follow the Classic team requirement. This is solely if the team doesn’t have an official roster from another league. Rosters freeze after Game #3.
The deadline to register your team(s) for the Winter season is December 15th.
Flexible scheduling will be available to play games on Saturdays or Sundays.
Scheduling Overview
- Teams may be scheduled to play a doubleheader on select weekends based on the following factors:
- Coach/team conflicts
- Referee availability
- Venue availability
The MDSL will accept match scheduling requests based on coach conflicts provided that they are communicated to the League Director of Futsal (Justin Reid – jreid@mdslsoccer.com) during the registration period to allow for conflicts to be taken into account during regular season match scheduling. Matches will not be re-scheduled after the final league schedule is released on December 21st.
- Games will be played betwen the times of 8:00 am – 9:00 pm at multiple venues in Montgomery County, MD.
- Seeding for playoff matches is based on total points earned by each team and its overall record during the regular season. For example, 1st vs 2nd, 3rd v 4th, etc. to provide a meningful playoff game to conclude the season for all those participating.
Requirements for each team:
- Teams are required to have at least 5 players and a maximum of 12 players. Based on past league experiences, teams with large rosters should consider entering two teams in the league to allow for adequate playing time since futsal is played in a 5 v 5 environment.
MDSL Winter Futsal 2025 KEY DATES to remember:
- Team Registration Deadline: December 15, 2024
- Division Structure Released: December 16, 2024
- Tentative Schedule Released to Teams Only: December 18, 2024. On this date teams can de-conflict any games up until December 20th. After this window, no changes are allowed for the rest of the season.
- Master Schedule Released: December 21, 2024
- Season Starts: January 4, 2025
- Season Ends: February 23, 2025 (March 1-2 may be used as make-up days).
Match Day Dates :
Teams will be guaranteed 8 Winter season matches over the season. Note that some games specifically make-up sessions may be played on Fridays. Matchdays are as follows:
- Week 1: January 4-5, 2025
- Week 2: January 11-12, 2025
- Week 3: January 18-19, 2025 (Teams signed up for DCXI MLK Futsal Cup can request this week as a bye week and make-up their games on another weekend).
- Week 4: January 25-26, 2025
- Week 5: February 1-2, 2025
- Week 6: February 8-9, 2025
- Week 7: February 15-16, 2025
- Week 8: February 22-23, 2025 (Playoffs)
*Note that inclement weather and school closings might be a factor during the season. If it is then we will do our best to reschedule all of the games and note that some teams may have to play doubleheaders. Also keep in mind that if a team requests to play Saturday games only that this request may not be granted and the team may have to play some games on Sundays.
Fees include:
- Eight (8) games per season
- Standard futsal rules and procedures developed by clubs.
- Centralized master scheduling via GotSport.
