Summer Futsal comes to Montgomery County, MD and we are excited to launch! Traditionally we have only operated our futsal season during the winter, but we are excited to now offer the program in the summer.

There are a great deal of benefits playing futsal in the summer. One, you get to stay out of the hot summer sun, two, your players will continue to get touches on the ball in small spaces.

Teams will be flighted based on competitive level (Division 1, Division 2) and will play 8 games during the season. Playoffs will be implemented at the end of the regular season, and champion and finalist medals will be awarded.

We will use GotSport scheduling and there will be a $25 discount per team for clubs who register 4 or more teams. For clubs registering 4 or more teams, select Check/MO in the GotSport platform and we will send you an invoice with the discounted rate to complete the registration. All teams must pay in full prior to the registration deadline.

*Note that the league holds the right to adjust divisions accordingly depending on the number of teams registered.

Note – This league is open to competitive level teams. Since the season will take place during the off-season, teams will have the option to use their official state youth roster or complete an MDSL roster. For teams submitting an MDSL roster, they will be required to provide birth certificates and player liability waivers. Rosters freeze after Game #4.

The deadline to register your team(s) is June 15th. Flexible scheduling is available, but all games must be played on Sunday.

Scheduling Overview

• Games will be played on both Saturday and Sunday. Teams traveling from outside of Montgomery County, MD may request a doubleheader. Here are additional factors that could lead to a doubleheader on any given day:
  • Coach/team conflicts
  • Referee availability
  • Venue availability

The MDSL will accept match scheduling requests based on coach conflicts provided that they are communicated to the League Director of Futsal (Justin Reid – jreid@mdslsoccer.com) during the registration period to allow for conflicts to be taken into account during regular season match scheduling. Matches will not be re-scheduled after the final league schedule is released.

• Games will be played between the times of 8:00 am – 7:00 pm across multiple gyms between Gaithersburg to Aspen Hill, MD.
• Seeding for playoff matches is based on total points earned by each team and its overall record during the regular season. For example, 1st vs 2nd, 3rd v 4th, etc. to provide a meaningful playoff game to conclude the season for all those participating.

Requirements for each team:

1. Teams are required to have at least 5 players and a maximum of 12 players. Based on past league experiences, teams with large rosters should consider entering two teams in the league to allow for adequate playing time since futsal is played in a 5 v 5 environment.

MDSL Winter Futsal 2025 KEY DATES to remember: 

• Team Registration Deadline: June 29, 2026
• Division Structure Released: June 30, 2026
• Master Schedule Released: July 5, 2026
• Season Starts: July 11, 2026
• Season Ends: August 15, 2026

Match Day Dates :

Teams will be guaranteed 8 Winter season matches over the season. Note that some games specifically make-up sessions may be played on Fridays. Matchdays are as follows:

• Week 1: July 11-12, 2026
• Week 2: July 18-19, 2026
• Week 3: July 25-26, 2026
• Week 4: August 1-2, 2026
• Week 5: August 8-9, 2026
• Week 6: August 15, 2026

Fees include:

1. Eight (8) games per season
2. Standard futsal rules and procedures developed by clubs.
3. Centralized master scheduling via GotSport.
