The MDSL Memorial Cup is a Classic (Lowest bracket) to Mid Level Travel (Highest bracket) tournament that offers competitive games as teams get ready to close the books on their Spring season. This event is for boys and girls teams from U-8 – U-19. In addition to playing tons of soccer, Memorial Day weekend is also a special time to spend with friends and family so we look forward to having us be a part of your team’s weekend. If we are invited of course. 🙂

Playing Levels
The tournament is for Classic to Mid Level Travel teams. Classic level is typically for those teams who currently play in leagues such as MSI Classic, Soccer Association of Montgomery, United Recreational Soccer League, and additional leagues where the teams play in their counties. These teams tend not to have many recreational players, and the rostered players aren’t travel level.
Entry Level Travel teams tend to be those who have transitioned from their Classic level competition and have stepped up to a new level. These teams tend to travel outside of the minimally to compete and they tend to play in the lower divisions (5-7) of EDP, NCSL, or other travel level leagues.
Mid-Level Travel teams tend to be teams who travel outside of their region or state. These teams play at a more competitive level than the Low Level Travel teams and have good tactical awareness along with good technical abilities. They tend to play in EDP, NCSL, and other travel leagues where they sit in Division 3 or 4.
Although it is tough to gauge the different levels of a team and how they match-up with the registered teams in our tournament, we try to do our best to ensure that games will be as competitive as possible. We use applications such as Soccer Rankings to learn where teams are in the chart. Based on what we have learned about the team, we try to group them accordingly. We don’t always get it right, but we do our due diligence because a tournament that is competitive and on a team’s specific level is great for all stakeholders. As a league we cater to Classic to Mid-Level travel teams and our tournaments follow a similar path.
As a reminder, we try to do our best to match teams up on level as it is a win-win for the participating teams.

*Note – GotSport charges teams a software fee in the amount of $20. This fee will be reflected after you have registered and have reached the payment screen on GotSport.
For teams who register after the deadline date, there will be a $50 late fee assessed. Teams that apply after the application deadline will not have guaranteed acceptance into the tournament.

***ALL players must have a valid USYS or U.S. Club Soccer player pass or valid roster from their state.
Team Check-in and Waiver
All check-in must be done online in GotSport by uploading the required documents. To review the check in process, you can click here.
- State affiliated teams need to upload their player cards and rosters in GotSport.
- Non-USYS affiliated roster teams must provide a roster from an MDSL accredited league. Those leagues include MDSL, MSI, SAM, URSL. Email info@mdslsoccer.com to find out if your league is accredited.
