Game Details
- Game Days: Saturdays & Sundays
- Total Games: 7-8 per team
- Game Times: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Game Locations: Silver Spring, MD
- Referees: Assigned for all games
- Note: Divisions may be adjusted based on team registrations.
CLUB APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Clubs must meet the following criteria before applying:
- Must have an established recreational program with supporting materials (marketing, website links, etc.).
- If accepted, the club director or recreation director must attend an online interview with MDSL League Directors.
- Agree to follow the league’s recreational player/team definition.
LEAGUE PHILOSOPHY
The MDSL prioritizes player development over winning.
While competition is part of the game, winning must not be a club’s primary goal. Clubs focused solely on winning may be declined or not invited to return.
Coaches are expected to:
- Teach the game the right way
- Support mistakes as part of the learning process
- Promote a healthy, positive developmental environment

PROGRAM BENEFITS
- Teams may wear their own uniforms (no mandatory MDSL uniforms).
- League accepts teams, not individual players (flat fee per team).
- Individuals seeking a team may receive placement assistance.
PLAYING FORMAT & RULES
- Build-out lines: Required for U-10 and below
- No heading: U-6 through U-11
- One referee per match
- Block scheduling available
- Double-coach accommodation to avoid scheduling conflicts

Teams are guaranteed 7-8 games.

- Week 8: June 7–8
