The Maryland Development Soccer League (MDSL) hosted the 1st Annual Fall Classic in Montgomery County, MD October 12 – 13, 2024. The event hosted 50 teams with players traveling in from all parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. 23 clubs participated and 85 games were played across 5 venues.

U-8 Boys Division
The U-8 division featured some competitive games, but it was evident from start to finish that Brazilian United Soccer Academy (BUSA) had the best players/team in the division. BUSA scored 26 goals over 4 games and would go on to defeat Panthers FC 6-1 in the final.
U-9 Boys Division
The U-9 division had a number of competitive players with most in their first full season of 7 v 7. The teams in the division featured teams who currently play in the MDSL Championship, EDP, and CMSA leagues. In the end, One Nation 2016/17 proved to be the most dominant team scoring 25 goals across 4 games.
U-10 Boys Division
The six team division featured teams from various leagues across the state. In Bracket A all three games were competitive with ties and games with a goal differential of 1-2 goals. Bracket B was a different story with the Panthers FC 2015 team dominating the bracket from start to finish. The Panthers would eventually go on to defeat Go Premier in the final 7-1 to win the Championship.
U-10 Girls Division
Of the seven games played in this division, six games were decided by a goal differential of 2 goals or less. The MSI Turtles, playing in their 3rd MDSL tournament of the calendar year, would face D.C. Way in the final, and for the second tournament in a row (the Summer Breakout being the previous one) the MSI Turtles would advance to the finals. In their second tournament in a row their final would also go to penalty kicks and like the previous event, the Turtles would prevail and win their 3rd MDSL championship in row for the calendar year. The Memorial Cup was their first.
U-11 Boys Division
The U-11 boys division featured eight teams and a number of competitive matches. One of the best matches of the division featured Avid SC Talons and Brazilian United Soccer Academy 2014. The winner of this game would play in the final against the 1st place team in Bracket B. Talons prevailed 2-1 against BUSA and would face Naranja Mecanica of Northern Virginia in the final. Talons started fast and were up 4-0 at half-time. Naranja would battle back to make it 4-2, but eventually Talons would close the door to win the trophy by a scoreline of 5-2.
U-12 Boys Division
There were a handful of competitive games in this six team division and none more than the final where Beltsville Soccer played GVAA The Ville Next. The previous day the two teams had met with GVAA winning 3-1. The next day after winning their respected semi-finals vs. teams from the cross bracket, Beltsville would bounce back to defeat GVAA 2-1.
U-12 Girls Division
The four team division saw GVAA Lions Select matched up against the MSI Tidal Waves in the finals. The two teams met on Saturday and GVAA defeated MSI 2-1. They would meet again on Sunday after finishing 1 and 2 in the division. In the end, GVAA started fast by scoring the first 4 goals of the final and never looked back eventually defeating the Tidal Waves 5-1.
U-13 Boys Division
This four team division featured a number of competitive matches. However, there was one team that proved to be just a notch above the rest and that was Brazilian United Soccer Academy Blue. After conceding a goal in their first game, BUSA never looked back and didn’t concede again in their next 3 games. They would eventually defeat Go Premier 2-0 in the final.
U-14 Boys Division
Arguably the most competitive division of the tournament. This six team division did not disappoint as no game finished with a goal differential of more than three. After winning their respected semi-finals, Arundel Soccer Association Roma and Luciano Emilio Soccer Academy 2011/12 would meet in the final. On Saturday, Roma defeated LESC 2-1. They would meet again in the final and the scoreline didn’t change. Roma proved to be a tad better and would go on to defeat LESC 2-1, again.
U-14 Girls Division
This division featured a few competitive games but one team proved to be a notch above the rest. One Nation 2012 Girls were the eventual winners in this division scoring 11 goals and conceding zero. They would defeat GVAA Select 2-0 in the final.
