The Maryland Development Soccer League (MDSL) hosted the 1st Annual Summer Sizzler in Montgomery County, MD July 13 – 14, 2024. The event hosted 22 teams with players traveling in from all parts of Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. 14 clubs participated and 41 games were played across 3 venues.

U-8 Boys Division
In the U-8 division there were a number of competitive games but Flight School DMV were a bit above the competition from their first game to the last. They would go on to defeat MSI SFC Lime Eagles 7-5 in what was a great final.
U-9 Boys Division
MD Independent America FC 2016 played a year up and stole the show in the 2015 Division. The team exhibited great dribbling, passing, and all out love and passion for the game. The team finished 3-0 in the group stage dominating the competition by scoring 23 goals in 3 games. However, when they reached the finals they had met their match against Luciano Emilio SC 2015. After losing to America FC 7-4 on Saturday, LESC bounced back to win the championship game.
U-11 Boys Division
The U-11 Boys Division featured a mix of summer league teams and those teams who play all year around. The 5 team bracket was very competitive and even featured a very good girls team from North Carolina FC Copa Elite. The girls competed in all 3 of their games and impressed. In the end DMV Warriors of Damascus eventually defeated A1 Soccer a group of players made up of various clubs in the area from SYC, Juventus, and a number of other clubs.
U-12 Boys Division
The U-12 Boys Division featured teams from outside of the Montgomery County area including Petruno Futbol Club from New Jersey. Of the nine games played in this division, six of them were decided by a score of 2 goals or less. In the final, Luciano Emilio SC 2012 faced Petruno Futbol and would go on to defeat them 2-0.
U-15 Girls Division
Tri-State Force Soccer Club 2009/10 of Alleghany County, MD proved to be above and beyond the competition in the U-15 Girls division scoring 24 goals in 4 games. They would go on to defeat Legacy SC 7-0 in the final.
