MDSL Soccer will host the 1st Annual Memorial Cup May 25-26, 2024. The tournament will feature teams across 40 different clubs between U8 – U-18 Boys and Girls teams. Teams will be participating from across the eastern region and games will be played at various venues in Montgomery County, MD. The tournament will host 266 games over the two days.
The brackets feature Classic to Mid-Level Travel teams from various leagues around the region. Teams from EDP, MSI Classic, Soccer Association of Montgomery, United Recreational Soccer League, MDSL Leagues, and more will all be in action.
Brackets to Watch:
U14 Boys
The U14 Boys Bracket will prove to be the most competitive as teams all fall within the lower level travel criteria. The division features Elite Football Club 2010 (SEIBEL) who currently tops their group in EDP South Atlantic Premier VII with 18 points. Greater Severna Park Black 2010B who won the Fall Breakout tournament in November returns to see if they can win another MDSL trophy. Southeast Soccer Club Titans 2010 Boys will prove to be a challenge in Bracket A and Beltsville Soccer Academy 2010 is always competitive.
On the other side in Bracket B, UES Silver Spring Panthers 2010 and FCI Tigers are among 2 of the 4 teams who will look to finish first in that side of the bracket. This bracket also features Aspen Hill SC 2010/11 and the Bowie Boys and Girls Club 2010B. The bracket may turn out to be a toss up to see who will top the group and advance to the final.
U11 Girls
The U11 Girls Bracket will feature a good Lee Mount Vernon SC team that has had a lot of success lately with tournaments earlier in the season where they finished as champions. UES Pink Panthers, Eritrean American Youth Sports Association, and City SC Frederick 13G all round out the bracket and have done well in their league seasons so far. So we are looking forward to this bracket being a good one.
